Excited to launch Carbonfact on Product Hunt! Carbonfact helps apparel and footwear brands measure and compare the carbon footprint of their products. Our new feature lets anyone submit a product link at https://www.carbonfact.com/request to get a quick carbon footprint assessment via email for free. Under the hood our software simplifies the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF), the environmental standard measurement framework built out by the European Commission. The fashion industry accounts for 1 billion tons of CO2 equivalent yearly. Carbonfact is our modest attempt to bring facts and transparency to help shoppers cut through the noise of greenwashing. Happy to answer any questions you might have on Carbonfact!

@bestelgram Thank you Jerome ❤️

I love everything about this! Carbon footprint should be a factor in every buying decision, and because it's not incorporated in the price, this is a much needed product. Congratulations on the launch! I'm curious if you plan on integrating more elements of the flow such as the shipment, or if you want to focus on the manufacturing process first and foremost?
Martin
Thank you @arnaud_porterie for the kind words ❤️ We are definitely releasing more features in the carbon model. Our last version has first elements on shipment. That said most of the carbon footprint for apparel and footwear products come upstream, from the energy required to assemble the products or produce the material. For a dress for instance, distribution is less than 1% of the carbon footprint (unless you're shipping by air!) while the Knitting and Weaving phase makes about 60% of the carbon footprint impact, see - https://www.carbonfact.com/categ...
