Hey Product Hunt! 👋 We built Calliope AI because we got tired of paying $200+/mo for AI coding tools that lock you into one model and route everything through their servers. We wanted to use Claude for architecture discussions, GPT-5 for quick fixes, and Ollama for proprietary code, without juggling subscriptions or worrying about where our prompts end up. So we built it: two desktop apps (IDE + Lab) that are completely free. Bring your own API keys, pay your provider directly, keep everything local. The agents aren't just autocomplete, they can run tasks in the background, manage git, scaffold projects, and iterate until they're done. Think of them as junior devs that actually follow instructions. This is a fresh release. Builds are unsigned while we wait on certificates, so expect some security prompts on macOS/Windows.
