Hello Product Hunt community 👋 I'm Simona, co-founder of the Bounties Network. Together with Mark Beylin - CEO, Will Villanueva - CTO and our small, lean, yet amazing team of eight, we've created the Bounties Network platform. It allows users to create and fulfill projects and tasks globally, with rewards paid out in any token on Ethereum. We aim to broaden access to a range of other tokens as we continue to develop. So what’s the big deal? 🐝 The full potential of collaborating on projects at a truly global level has not yet been achieved. We can realize that potential through a platform that connects project owners and talent across the world in a censorship free, transparent environment, not limited by access to legacy financial institutions. The Bounties Network empowers humans to incentivize and self-organize, from freelancing to grassroots social action, and anything in between. Whether it's research, content creation, translation, art or environmental action, The Bounties Network lets you create projects, collaborate, and get paid for great work in any domain - just connect through a wallet on desktop or mobile. We care deeply about both issuers and fulfillers, and strive to balance the power inequalities that can arise in existing communities and marketplaces. Members of our community are located on all six major continents, come from all backgrounds and we welcome everyone - new or advanced blockchain users. We look forward to your feedback! 🍯 Simona
@sim_pop @markbeylin Very cool product, where do you see it evolving overtime?
@davide_scalzo Thank you! Our vision is one made up of social marketplaces. Through the rise of the gig economy, peer to peer labour transactions have become increasingly commoditized. The antidote to this is the formation of communities around domains, skill-sets, geographic locations, or any other shared value, in which individuals can transact with each other or collaborate on tasks. The difficulty with collaboration in web-based marketplaces is that individuals don’t know each other, and teamwork requires context. By forming communities within which individuals collaborate with their peers, we make it easier to handle the outsourcing of increasingly subjective and complex tasks. We are also looking at broadening the tokens used for rewards as we become even more inclusive of backgrounds, geographies and crypto preferences. Listings and a mobile app are also in the pipeline.
@sim_pop Awesome, thank you!
Really happy Bounties made it here. As a user, the experience is seamless. A great example of proper UX in Ethereum. The bounties are really fun. I've both posted some and participated of others. The team's philosophy and approach to their own bounty-posting is what really takes the cake: from researching minimum wage in Manila to prevent a Bounty proposed to clean up beaches from being perceived the wrong way, to the amount of help and support they give to the wider community, and the sense of responsibility and solidarity - this particular product goes above and beyond to ensure they're sending the right message, providing a 100% usable product (and practicing what they preach)
@sim_pop @markbeylin super cool product, very easy to use. What are your plans around assisting issuers to create bounties with enough information and detail for fulfillers?
@joshua_cassidy Clarity is key for successful bounties! When we redesigned the explorer, it was actually one of the key features we focused on. We have a pre-set guide leading the user through the core components of a successful bounty: description, definition of done, requirements. We are also in the process of putting together a best practice guide so that everyone can create successful bounties that will deliver great quality work in optimum time!
@sim_pop Great that is awesome! Also great some of the initiatives you have been able to facilitate already through the platform are really inspiring.
Thank you, @joshua_cassidy! One of my favourites to date has got to be our Bounties for the Oceans pilot in Manila
I love Bounties, I have used it several times with excellent results—and it keeps getting better! It was the first blockchain product I really *used* frequently, which is saying a lot ;) I also think this is an incredibly ethical team that values designers (who tend to get smushed by other sites promising "quick design work"), and so my hopes are high for it being my go-to for years to come <3
Awesome work Simona and team! I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience on bounties network. 🐝 In the past few months, our Ethereum dapp community has used the Bounties Network to source user testing, incentivize hackathon integrations, refer hiring candidates, and more. Super flexible and intuitive, and it doesn’t hurt that I can pay in any ERC20 token! 🙌 Keep it up! 💜
