Bits is a personal agent that runs on your own machine and never sleeps. A small background daemon does the work: routines wake it on a schedule, and tasks keep going when the app is closed. Every step is saved, so a crash just resumes. Memory lives in plain Markdown files you can read and edit. Risky actions pass the Sentinel, a reviewer that only trusts your own words. It answers with live cards and mini-apps, talks by voice, opens with ⌥Space, and works with any model, including local ones.

@harsh071 keeping memory as plain markdown in ~/.bits is a nice call, you can just open the file and fix what it got wrong. when Sentinel flags a risky step does it stop and ask you, or skip it and keep going?
Whoa! Congrats on launch. Can I run a team of bits?
Also, which local models do you recommend to try out ?
@nik_shilov Thanks you! A team of Bits is coming in a follow-up. Today Bits can already spin up helper agents that work in parallel on bigger tasks, and next I'm adding proper teams, with several Bits working together. What would your use case be?
For local models, use Ollama with Qwen. Try qwen3.5:9b on 16 GB or qwen3.5:4b on 8 GB, and set OLLAMA_CONTEXT_LENGTH=32768 so Bits' tools and memory fit. I will try to experiment further to see which works best.
Lots of personal agents launching lately, so going open source is a smart way to stand out. What's the first thing I should ask it to be impressed?
@jean_bonnenfant_tinct For me it's the mix: open source, local first, flexible enough to run on a local model, and built on agentable-ui, an open source component library made for agents. The artifacts Bits makes, like dashboards or planners, work over WebMCP, so other agents like Claude or Codex can update them too.
Hey Harsh! Congrats, it's definitely a great idea for someone who would like to try personal agents like Muse, but was concerned about data privacy
@yovuk Thanks, really appreciate it! Privacy was the whole reason we built it, so it means a lot that it comes through. You should give it a try! This would work great for enterprise as it's flexible and they can bring their own infra.
