Our Salt Lake City startup develops and sells "migraine glasses". We were founded by a University of Utah nuero-ophthalmologist, a photonics researcher, and a tech entrepreneur.
When you get a migraine headache, where do you want to go? Usually a dark, quite room. That’s not a surprise as the majority of migraine sufferers are sensitive to light. Light can also be a trigger for migraine attacks. Our eyeglasses and contact lenses block the wavelengths of light that have been implicated in triggering and exacerbating migraines
The lenses have been the subject of multiple peer reviewed studies. In one, the participants saw a 2x improvement in their severity of light sensitivity symptoms compared to wearing a regular gray lens. They work for about 85-90% of those who try them and we get comments such as:
