Hi everyone! 👋 We are excited to share AuthFoodMaps, born from a simple question: "Is this actually authentic?" As someone who loves ethnic food, I've always struggled to find truly authentic restaurants. Most review sites focus on general ratings, but authenticity is different - what seems "authentic" to one person might be completely westernized to someone who grew up with that cuisine. That's why we built AuthFoodMaps with a unique approach: • Cultural experts rate restaurants on authenticity • 4-point rating system (Authenticity, Service, Atmosphere, Overall) • Clear distinction between traditional and fusion offerings • Coverage of 11 major cuisines including Chinese, Mexican, Japanese, Italian, French, Korean, Indian, Thai, Turkish, Mediterranean, and Vietnamese AuthFoodMaps now covers US, Canada, and Northern Mexico, and our community of cultural food experts continues to grow. Unlike google maps or yelp where the searching results are not ordered strictly based on scores and relevance, at AuthFoodMaps all the searching results are ordered from high to low which makes it super quick to find the best restaurant in the region to try out. We used to spend 30 minutes to an hour to find the right restaurants when we were at a new place, but now it takes us less than a minute. More importantly, if we would like to try some types of food that we are not familiar with like Turkish or Mediterranean food, this site makes it super easy!
