AudiBar

AudiBar

Menu bar audio player & radio streamer for Mac. No bloat.

AudiBar does two things well: plays local audio files and streams internet radio, all from your menu bar. No library imports, no metadata management, no cloud sync. Drag a file onto the icon and it plays. Add a station URL and it streams. Under 50MB memory, zero CPU when idle. Supports MP3, FLAC, WAV, AAC, M4A, plus M3U, PLS, and XSPF streaming formats. Perfect for previewing tracks, checking audio edits, or background listening without the overhead.

Hey all, This'll be my first product offering here on Product Hunt! I'm Clive, an indie developer based in the UK. After seven years in enterprise software, I left my full-time role last year to build my own products. AudiBar came from a simple frustration: I got tired of opening heavyweight apps just to play a single audio file or stream a radio station. Most audio players assume you want a full music library: importing, metadata, album art, syncing. But sometimes you just need to preview a voice memo, check an audio edit, or throw on some internet radio while you work. AudiBar lives in your menu bar. Drag a file, it plays. Paste a station URL, it streams. Unlike most players, there's no main window and no library to manage. It handles both local files and internet radio, and uses virtually no resources when idle (under 50MB memory and zero CPU). The basic version handles single-file playback, while Premium provides playlist and saved radio station support. Happy to answer any questions!
