There are plenty of place of the internet to geek out about comics and sci-fi, but I've been at this a long time and none of these places are perfect. There's the rampant sexism, racism, and trolling that occurs at many comic book forums. Others are very insular communities. It's also hard discuss individual products - such as the new issue of a comic that dropped - without getting into the posting history that proceeded that new item. So I think there's a real need for a place like Another Universe where you can focus on discussing the newest toys, issues, news items, etc. one at a time in a quality community. @golocalapps is the maker

Hey folks. We built this using @sachagreif 's telescope framework (recently on PH), and a lot of help from @jeremyshimko. When I first experienced PH, it felt familiar in some ways. Eventually it struck me that it was like being in a comic store on new comic day. Looking over all the new things that came in and discussing them with customers and staff. Just how good is the new artist on Captain America, or what are the new great cards in a Magic the Gathering expansion. The local comic store is community around a shared interest. Every week they get to gather and discuss/argue the new products coming out. AnotherUniverse is my attempt to recreate that online. I have a Medium post about it I need to publish now that we've officially launched.

@sachagreif It's been a lot of fun to play with. I've talked w @jeremyshimko about more customizations for our use, and for Telescope in general. But its a lot of fun out of the box.
