Hello Product Hunters! As an Electric Vehicle (EV) owner, setting out on a long trip often leaves me with several key questions. Can I complete the journey without having to stop at a public charging station or will I need a 'refuel' en route? Simply put, is my current charge sufficient? How does the cost of this trip, in terms of electricity, stack up against using a gas-powered vehicle? If I choose to recharge during my journey, how does that expense compare to charging at home? And just how long will I need to set aside to charge my EV to ensure I can reach my destination? I found that the existing solutions in the marketplace weren't quite hitting the mark. While there are several good EV route planners, apps, and tools available, many seemed too intricate, and none could provide the answers to all my questions at the push of a button. Moreover, some of these tools, although integrated into my EV, lacked accessibility outside of it. That's where Amptrip comes into the picture. Born out of my personal need, I developed this tool. It's my intention to keep it forever free and continue to enrich it with more features, taking cues from community feedback. At present, it's available only in the US, but I'm eager to roll it out globally, contingent on demand.
