We think, that for the subset of people who find it difficult to wake up in the morning, there are already apps like Alarmy which employ challenge-based alarms. But talking to people made us realise that a major problem faced by those in their 20s and onwards is that they lack purpose. They lack the mindset to achieve something on a day-to-day basis. We are still developing and working on the app and hope to get early feedback on the concept and signups. Right now, the first version will involve users writing their top 3 priorities for the next day when setting an alarm and then vocally having to repeat personalised statements around these goals when the alarm goes off. Saying these statements will be the ONLY way of dismissing the alarm, no snooze. If we could somehow make people feel that they can achieve their daily goals, it could have a compounding effect on their lives. And, positive self-talk is a way we identified this could be done. Saying these personalised affirmations about your daily goals when you wake up is the core concept. Saying your goals vocally also adds accountability to your subconscious and you're more likely to complete your priorities. We are testing the waters right now with this concept. An MVP app will be launched in mid-January 2025. If you think you could benefit from making positive self-talk a daily habit and prime your mind to achieve your daily goals, then please tell us your name and email on the website so we can notify you when we launch the app. Leave a comment if you think such an app could improve people's mental health, and all suggestions are most welcome!
