Tomás Martins
Greetings hunters! I'm Tomás Martins, the sole developer behind AirScrobble, and I'm very excited to celebrate the launch of AirScrobble with everyone! AirScrobble is a little tool that connects the missing link of Shazam and Last.fm, allowing you to identify any song playing around you and quickly scrobble them to your Last.fm profile account! I've come up with this idea back in March, when I was about to go to my first concert since the pandemic hit. It was very exciting to finally go back to a concert hall after the last two years, but as an avid Last.fm user that strives to log all my listening to my profile, I also wanted to scrobble the setlist from the show to my profile. However, I wasn't looking forward having to ruin my experience by having to get my phone out, having to identify the song that would be playing at the moment and have to manually fill in the details to log it on my profile, so I've tried to lookup if there was an app that would help me ID the songs from the setlist and scrobble them, but to my surprise I couldn't find anything like that in the App Store! So on the night before the concert I decided to come up with a small MVP of the app, which used Shazam to identify a song and Last.fm's API to submit the match to my profile! On the concert night, I was very eager to try out the idea, but unfortunately I found out that Shazam isn't that reliable on live recordings, so I couldn't get the entire playlist to my Last.fm. However, when Shazam could match the song, it felt a bit magical. But in the end, what I enjoyed the most is how it didn't get much in the way of being there in the show. The MVP was just a big red button, so I could hit it without paying much attention to my phone and just have to let my app do the magic. After that night, I felt like I had something going on so for the next few months I've continued working on the app for the next few months. I've fined tune the experience, added more features and after many successful scrobbles while listening to record players, a cool radio station or while enjoying the playlist going on at my local restaurants, I'm finally ready to share AirScrobble with the rest of the world! Here's a breakdown of the main features: - SHAZAM + LAST.FM: This app uses Shazam powerful sound recognition toolset to match songs playing around you, while allowing you to connect your Last.fm account so you can submit all new discoveries to your profile - HISTORY: want to remember a song that you got hooked on earlier? All the songs you identify with the app are available on the History page, allowing you to scrobble them later as well - CUSTOMIZATION: want to scrobble songs as soon as they are matched? Are you picky on which tags are submitted on your scrobble? AirScrobble allows you to fine tune your scrobbling experience! - APPLE MUSIC: found a new keeper with AirScrobble? You can quickly check any new matches on Apple Music or add them to your library through the AirScrobble playlist! - AIRSCROBBLE+: For just $7.49/year, you can unlock all current and future premium features in the app. For this initial release, you can unlock your entire match history with premium but stay tuned as more exclusive goodies will be released soon And there's even more features on the way! You can check the public roadmap to check what I'm working on next, as well as make any suggestions of what you'd like to see in the app! https://changemap.co/tomas-marti... Thanks for checking out my app! I hope you end up giving it a try and, if you do, please let me know what you think!
