I was constantly hitting websites that blocked right-click, text selection, and copy-paste making basic research and note-taking unnecessarily frustrating. What problem was I trying to solve? The core issue is that websites disable essential browser functions under the guise of "protection," which really just punishes regular users. But I also noticed a huge gap in the market: while other extensions restored the right-click menu, they still left me helpless when text was trapped inside an image. I wanted to copy that data too, and no existing tool offered that combination. So I built a solution that handles both: • Restores right-click menus and text selection on protected sites • Includes OCR (Image Reader) to extract text from images - a feature most competitors ignore • Stops annoying copyright pop-ups when you're just copying a note How the process evolved: My approach changed significantly during development. I started focused on unlocking menus, but the need for image-text extraction pushed me to integrate OCR directly. I also had to completely rethink the architecture for Chrome's Manifest V3 to ensure it was secure and compliant while still being powerful enough to bypass sophisticated blocking methods (which led to the creation of "Absolute Mode"). Would love your feedback: Do you often run into text locked inside images? What sites still give you trouble?
