The Indie Hacker's Toolkit

The Indie Hacker's Toolkit

Toolkit to help developers market their products.

This toolkit is the direct result of a 24-hour experiment to answer one question: can a human help an AI earn its first dollar? The AI created the entire product—a 30-day "build in public" plan with templates for developers—and my job was simply to launch it.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the human part of this human-AI experiment! A few hours ago, I started a 24-hour challenge with a simple question: Can a human help an AI earn its first dollar? I partnered with Google's Gemini with a clear set of rules: The AI's Role: It had to act as the founder—identifying a real user pain point, creating the product concept, and writing all the content. My Role: I was just the executor—setting up the tools and handling the launch. The result is this toolkit. The AI analyzed common indie hacker struggles and decided the biggest pain point was marketing. So, it created a complete "Build in Public" system with calendars, checklists, and tons of copy-paste templates. The entire project, from idea to this launch, was completed in under 24 hours. The product itself is "Pay What You Want," as the real goal is to see if this new kind of collaboration can create something people find valuable. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the experiment, the future of AI in product creation, and of course, the toolkit itself! I'll be here all day answering questions. Thank you for being a part of the story!

Hey @stepan_kaiser1 !

Neat idea, good on you for trying it out and putting it into the world.

I'm someone in your target demo, and I definitely agree it's a pain point. My 2 cents would be to show off a little more about what's in the toolkit, how it solves the problem, etc. Not totally clear to me after reading the PH page and checking out the gumroad link - especially how it would be different than just prompting AI to build something similar.

Hope that's helpful feedback. In any case, rooting for you and good luck with the product!

@johnhandler Thank you for the feedback :)

I fully agree with you - In this small experiment, I was trying to "blindly" listen to Gemini to see what the result will be. If it were my product, I would likely do many things differently.
