Hey Product Hunt! 👋

My name is Danilo Fiumi and as a small content creator, I was losing my mind over the lack of truly free tools for adding automatic subtitles to videos. There are a million video editors and AI tools out there, but when it comes to subtitles? Suddenly, everything good is locked behind a paywall or a subscription. Not cool.

So I challenged myself: could I build a no-BS, zero-cost subtitle app, with no cloud dependencies, no hidden fees, and no “surprise, you need to upgrade” moments? Turns out, yes.

What’s unique here? This app runs 100% locally on your Mac (M-series only for now), uses only your machine’s resources, and is totally free. No third-party APIs. No waiting for uploads (especially when you have a slow connection or long videos). No data leaving your laptop. Just you, your content, and animated subtitles that don’t cost a cent.

Great to see a solution that eliminates cloud dependencies and speeds up subtitle generation. Can users easily edit the subtitles if the automatic transcription is not perfect? @danilofiumi
