Hi Product Hunt,

I'm Robert, I built Sashy. I took a data science bootcamp last year and noticed that language models like ChatGPT were being used to generate text, but not many people were using them to extract valuable data from human-readable text.

I started brainstorming: where is there valuable information stored in natural language?

That’s when I came up with the concept of classifying review comments and analysing them to detect trends. But from my experience working in business development, I knew that this analysis had to be tied back to real-world financial impact for it to actually matter to a business.

So I first worked out how much each review comment affects a business’s overall rating. From there, you can figure out which categories have the highest impact on ratings – things like Staff Service, Facilities Cleanliness, and so on.

Before the arrival of language models, even just a year or two ago, there was no effective way to do this. To connect these insights to actual financial impact, I found a study showing that a 1-star change in a business’s online rating leads to roughly a 10% change in revenue. For a $1m business, that’s around $100k per year.

I am also a big believer in the opportunity to improve the world by bringing new technology to traditional businesses. I saw that firsthand from my time working in construction and manufacturing.

What Sashy does is allow business owners, from single-location shops to multi-national restaurant chains, to properly analyse their customer feedback and get a clear list of improvement actions based on the trends that impact their bottom line the most.

There are other tools that do review analysis, but they all just stop at basic sentiment analysis. I designed Sashy specifically to go deeper and tie the insights back to quantitative business impact. On top of that, we’ve made it really easy to use – we don’t access your Google Business Profile, and you can get insights for any business, including competitors or business customers, which is useful if you’re an agency or consultancy.

@rachitmagon Thank you. Just by nature of my prompt being in English, it converts the reviews to English. Multiple languages would be something we could do in future.
