I built this platform because I’ve always felt like independent artists don’t really get a fair chance. On the bigger platforms, they’re constantly fighting for visibility, and even when they do get noticed, the money just isn’t there. I’ve seen so many talented people pour their hearts into their music, only to get overlooked by algorithms or underpaid by systems that were never designed for them in the first place. A lot of these platforms are built around models that favor major labels and viral content. There aren’t enough tools that actually help independent artists grow or turn their creativity into a sustainable living. That’s always bothered me. As someone who loves music and has been surrounded by independent creators for years, I felt like something had to change. That’s what pushed me to create this platform—not just to build another app, but to build something that could really support a community. I wanted to give artists a space where they could be seen and heard, where they could connect with real fans, and most importantly, where they could make a living doing what they love. This is about more than just technology. It’s about giving power back to artists and helping them share their work with people who truly care. Most major platforms only give artists one real way to make money—royalties. And even that’s not much unless you’re getting millions of streams. The reality is, their business models are built to benefit big-name artists and major labels. The more visibility you already have, the more you’re rewarded. It’s a system where the biggest players keep winning, and smaller, independent artists are left behind—no matter how good the music is. That’s exactly what we’re flipping with SoundCrate. We’re building a platform that works in the opposite direction—one that supports all artists, regardless of their size or reach. Instead of just rewarding volume, we’re putting the focus on quality. Instead of a single income stream, we’re developing tools that give artists multiple ways to earn beyond just royalties—whether that’s through fan engagement, exclusive content, or direct support models. We’re also using AI not just for personalization, but to deepen the connection between artists and fans. It’s not about chasing trends—it’s about learning what listeners truly love and helping artists reach those people in meaningful ways. At the heart of it, this is about fairness. It’s about giving independent artists—whether they’re just starting or have been grinding for years—a real shot at being heard, growing their audience, and making a living from their art. What I’m most excited about with the beta launch of this platform is that we have a team with a clear, shared vision of what we’re building and why it matters. Everyone truly understands the gap in the current music streaming space—and we’re all aligned on creating something that can genuinely solve it. There’s a growing need for a platform that puts artists first, and I’m proud that we’re stepping up to meet that challenge. It feels good to be building something that has the potential to make a real difference for a large community of independent artists and music lovers.
