Last week, the company I was working at suddenly shut down. It was unexpected and honestly a bit overwhelming. I immediately jumped into job hunting and started brushing up on my interview skills. While trying to prepare, I found that most AI interview tools were either too expensive, locked behind paywalls, or didn’t give me the kind of flexibility I needed. Using tools like ChatGPT felt limiting—I couldn’t fully customize the experience, and relying on proprietary APIs didn’t sit well with me. Since I’ve been working extensively with AI and full-stack development, I decided to build something that would truly help: Seekr. Seekr is an open-source AI interviewer that runs locally. It uses open models, doesn’t require any subscriptions or API keys, and gives you full control over your data and experience. It simulates realistic mock interviews and—something I personally found super valuable—it gives personalized feedback on your responses, helping you improve over time with specific insights.
