I created Leirz to make discovering local history as effortless as checking a map. I wanted to blend AI-generated content with precise geolocation, delivering short, engaging stories tied to real-world locations. Leirz uniquely integrates machine learning pipelines with a vast geospatial dataset, offering users a seamless experience where tapping on a map reveals historical insights. This fusion of technology provides a fresh, interactive way to explore the past. I’m especially proud of programmatically engineering and designing sophisticated machine learning infrastructure to generate over 500,000 historical markers across various categories. Additionally, my work in Geospatial Data Performance Engineering—optimizing database indexing, caching, and map rendering—ensures a smooth, responsive user experience at every zoom level.
