I'm David — a designer/developer, deeply interested in automation. This is my first launch here, so... be gentle. 😅
So here’s what happened: I had over 300 SVG images that needed background removal. Manually? That’s two days of my life I’d never get back. AI can totally handle it now — but the question was how?
The real problem? How do you actually process the files?
Do you install a model locally? Use what interface? Write a Python script to crawl a folder? What if it’s too slow, or the model isn’t the right one? And what about ChatGPT... do I just feed it 10 files at a time? That would also take forever.
I figured there has to be a better way. A simple, fast and reliable batch tool, that lets everyday people use powerful AI models without the hassle.
So I built it... and called it "Shovel" — a simple tool for a high tech job. Because sometimes, you just want to shovel your problems into the machine and watch them get handled.
Let me know if you have such use cases as well. I can't be the only one with tons of files to edit. 😀
