Hype is a 100% free, P2P online meeting tool built for simplicity and privacy. Say goodbye to signups, ads and meeting time limits. Our nano AI models run directly in your browser to summarize and transcribe meetings in real time—without recording any data.

We’re super excited to launch Hype, a completely free, P2P online meeting tool we built out of necessity while bootstrapping our AI research lab.
🧠 Why we built this:
We were tired of dealing with meeting tools that had time limits, required signups, or made us pay just to use basic features. So, we built Hype:
✅ No signups and 0 friction
✅ P2P technology for privacy-first meetings
✅ Nano AI models run directly in the browser to summarize and transcribe meetings in real time
✅ All data is transient—nothing is recorded
💡 How it works:
Simply create a meeting link and share it. You’ll get real-time AI-generated summaries and transcriptions without any data ever leaving your browser.
Key Things to Know
Transcription & Subtitles
The transcription model takes a few seconds to fully download before subtitles appear, depending on your internet speed (same thing when you switch to a new language for the first time).
There's no visual confirmation yet, but you can check the browser console for progress.
Meeting Host Role
Only participants with Gemini Nano enabled can provide AI for others.
Whoever is joining first with Gemini Nano becomes the host (if there's no host yet - and when that participant leaves, Hype looks for a new host with Gemini enabled)
If no one has Gemini Nano, the HypeBot won’t be available. However, all other features—like transcription, subtitles, and time travel—will work as usual.
Using HypeBot (@bot in chat)
To enable Gemini Nano, the host must:
Install Chrome Dev or Canary.
Enable the following flags:
chrome://flags/#prompt-api-for-gemini-nano → Enabled
chrome://flags/#optimization-guide-on-device-model → Enabled (BypassPerfRequirement)
Restart Chrome.
Go to chrome://components → Check for updates on Optimization Guide On Device Model.
WebGPU support (optional but improves performance).
🎯 We’d love your feedback:
• What features would make this tool even better?
• Do you see use cases for this in your workflow or team meetings?
