LLMule

Decentralized P2P Network for AI Computing

LLMule creates a decentralized AI ecosystem where users can run models locally or connect to a P2P network. Your data stays private, you discover community-shared models, and you can join the revolution by sharing your compute power. AI freedom outside big tech control.

🚀 Hello Product Hunt Community!

We're launching LLMule, a decentralized AI network that puts control back in your hands—breaking free from centralized gatekeepers.

💡Why LLMule?

We believe AI should empower everyone. Today, most AI services are centralized, expensive, and require significant computing power. Meanwhile, countless personal devices with AI capabilities sit idle. LLMule bridges this gap through P2P technology.

🌍 Our Story

We are CM64 studio from Argentina 🇦🇷, trying to bring back that feeling when technology felt like magic. We built LLMule Open Source to make AI accessible, community-driven, and free from surveillance. We are Andres Cufari and Paula Schiffelbein.

🔗 Who is LLMule for?

Anyone who wants true AI freedom —developers, builders, AI enthusiasts, researchers, hobbyists, privacy advocates, and everyone who believes in technology that answers to users, not shareholders.

Run AI your way– Run models locally or connect to the P2P network.

Data sovereignty – Totally private local operation with anonymous network access.

✅ Community power – Share compute resources and help democratize AI.

✅ Open ecosystem – Seamless integration with Ollama, vLLM and LM StudioTotal privacy – Your data stays on your device.

👋 We’d love your feedback! This is our first launch on Product Hunt, and your thoughts will help us shape LLMule’s future.

LLMule is such a groundbreaking idea! The way you're decentralizing AI and giving people control over their data and computing resources is a total game changer for privacy and accessibility. How do you see LLMule evolving to support more AI tools or use cases as the community grows?

Andres Cufari
@jonurbonas Thank you so much for the kind words! We're really excited about the potential of decentralizing AI through community power. As LLMule grows, we see it evolving in several key directions: First, we're working on expanding tool integration beyond our current Ollama and LM Studio compatibility. We want LLMule to become an open platform where developers can easily build applications that leverage the shared compute resources of our network. Second, we envision specialized AI nodes emerging from the community - some users might contribute compute optimized for image generation, others for coding assistance, and so on. This natural specialization will create a rich ecosystem of diverse AI capabilities. Most importantly, we're designing LLMule to be community-governed. As more users join, we'll implement voting mechanisms so the network's evolution reflects what our users actually need, not what maximizes profit for a corporation. What kinds of AI tools or use cases would you personally find most valuable in a decentralized network? Your feedback directly shapes our roadmap.

The LLMule project deserves high praise for its contribution to the decentralization of artificial intelligence. At a time when most AI solutions rely on centralized servers and data-hungry business models, LLMule offers a refreshing alternative based on freedom, privacy, and community collaboration.

It is a tool that empowers everyone — from everyday users to developers — to run and share AI models locally, without handing over their data to corporations or relying on paid API keys. With LLMule, we can build an ecosystem where AI serves people — not the other way around.

From a technical standpoint, it excels in modularity, compatibility with various backends (Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM, EXLlama, etc.), and its open-source nature. Support for all major operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and easy installation further enhance its accessibility.

LLMule is more than just software — it is a philosophy of digital sovereignty. Projects like this are essential to ensure AI remains accessible, secure, and free for all.

Andres Cufari
@jiri_mlcoch Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! Your words really capture the core philosophy behind LLMule. We built this project precisely because we believe AI should be a technology that empowers individuals rather than centralizing power. The P2P approach isn't just a technical choice - it's a statement about what kind of future we want to create with AI. Ensuring compatibility with multiple backends was a priority for us because we wanted to meet people where they are. Whether you're already using Ollama, LM Studio, or other frameworks, we wanted LLMule to enhance your experience without forcing you to change your workflow. Digital sovereignty is exactly the term we use internally! We believe that true AI freedom means having control over both your data and the compute resources that power your AI experiences. We're just getting started - the community will ultimately determine where LLMule goes next. If you have any specific features or improvements you'd like to see, we'd love to hear your thoughts. Thank you for being part of this movement!
