MySQL for Developers

Hey PH! Thanks @mscccc for hunting this! I'm so so thrilled to release MySQL for Developers today! 🎉🎉 This is a completely free video course to teach you everything that you, as an application developer, need to know about MySQL. The course is just over 7 hours long, split into 64 videos, across 4 different sections: • Schema - how to build efficient and effective tables • Indexes - how indexes work and how to use them well • Queries - how to query your data in the most efficient way • Examples - real world examples application developers would face As a full-stack developer myself, I was always frustrated by the lack of resources for the database layer. There were lots of good books, but they were extremely technical and covered lots of topics I didn't care about. The MySQL docs are actually amazing, but again, way too in-depth for what I wanted to learn! I've spent the past 18 months studying, reading all of those books, printing out the MySQL documentation so I can read it all on paper, and recording and editing this course! For the past four months, this has literally been my full-time job. If you're a full-stack or backend developer that feels pretty comfortable using your ORM or framework, maybe know some SQL, but wouldn't consider yourself a database expert at all: this course is specifically designed for you. We don't cover any aspects of hosting or running a MySQL database, but instead focus on becoming an expert _user_ of MySQL so you can build performant applications without the database being an unapproachable black-box. I've been watching Aaron build this course over the past several months. The level of detail and care he's put into this is incredible. It's a huge resource for any developers working on getting better with databases. Most database courses are suited more for DBA's and infrastructure engineers. This one is focused on what you need to do to build and ship your product. Also it's free!
