If you run AI coding agents, you know the loop: stare at the terminal waiting for "done", or miss the moment it stops to ask for permission. Lingxi is a quiet 3D cat that lives on your Mac desktop and watches for you. When Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any MCP client finishes, fails or needs you, it walks over and tells you with a face and a speech bubble. Between tasks it naps, wanders and chases yarn. Runs locally, never acts for your agent.

This is app #10 in my challenge to build 100 apps with AI.
I spend my days running coding agents, and I kept doing the same two things: staring at the terminal waiting for "done", or missing the moment an agent stopped to ask me for permission. So I made a cat to watch for me.
What Lingxi does
ā¢ Lives on your desktop ā walks along the screen edge, naps, steps out of your cursor's way
ā¢ Watches your agents ā Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, WorkBuddy / CodeBuddy, Doubao, DeepSeek Harness, or any MCP client. When a task finishes, fails or needs your approval, it walks over and tells you with an expression, a gesture and a speech bubble
ā¢ Plays ā yarn ball, feather wand, laser pointer, or pet it until it rolls over
ā¢ Two looks ā a blocky voxel cat, or a realistic one with real-time fur
ā¢ Reminders that wait until you're back at your desk
ā¢ Five personality sliders, plus your own actions, expressions and skins via JSON
What it deliberately doesn't do
ā¢ Get in your way ā "Don't disturb while typing" keeps it off the line you're editing (it checks where the caret is, never what you type)
ā¢ Drain your Mac ā hidden, locked or asleep means no movement and no rendering
ā¢ Collect anything ā memories, reminders and settings stay on your Mac; no cursor tracking
ā¢ Act for you ā it only watches task status; it can never approve or run anything
Built with Tauri 2 + Rust + TypeScript + Three.js; the realistic cat was modeled, groomed and animated in Blender.
