Hi Product Hunt! I built Puzzle Pointer after watching people in my family spend twenty minutes hunting for one piece of a 1000-piece puzzle.
You scan the barcode on the box (or photograph it), photograph the loose piece, and the app shows the few spots on the picture where it's most likely to go, with the piece turned to match. You still make the fit yourself, which keeps it a puzzle, just without the stuck part.
It knows 10,000+ puzzles by barcode, has no ads, and the first searches are free. When people rate a search, 8 in 10 say the piece fit one of the spots shown; plain sky and water are still the hardest, and the app tells you when a piece is one of those.
