Hi Product Hunt! I built CutThatCrap to make long YouTube tutorials easier to review. It turns available captions into timestamped highlights, followed by an overview of the whole video, in Chrome's side panel.
Click a timestamp to jump back to the source. Choose Short or Detailed output, one of 14 languages, and an OpenAI model. Text streams in while the summary is generated, and switching tabs keeps the same job running.
Use your own OpenAI API key or prepaid USD credit. No CutThatCrap account or required subscription. Installation and transcript copying are free. Summarization uses your OpenAI API account or prepaid credit. Prepaid usage is charged at OpenAI Standard rates plus a 40% service fee.
