Built by a student for students aged 14–18. Uni X brings age-checked volunteering opportunities into one free place. Register directly with organisers, then save hours, photos and reflections as Projects for VIA, IB CAS and university applications.
I used AI to build a sophisticated digital platform that would traditionally require an entire
technology team.
I combined Lovable for development, GitHub for code and data governance, Cloudflare for
infrastructure, and Firecrawl and AI tools for researching and extracting volunteering opportunities.
Behind the platform is a structured process for discovering, collecting, standardising and verifying
activities. Strict rules govern age eligibility, source reliability, dates, duplicates and publication.
Students enjoy personalised discovery, Google Maps for nearby opportunities, smart filters, and
private projects to preserve photos, videos, memories, volunteering hours, and CAS reflections.
Built Uni X’s plugins in ChartGPT and Claude to extend opportunity discovery beyond the website.
Google Analytics, Search Console and Bing support performance and visibility. HubSpot, Gmail
and Lark connect schools and volunteering organisations. Integrations with ChatGPT and Claude
are being developed.
