Zush
Launching today
Zush used to just rename files. Now it sorts them into folders too: AI picks the folders, or you write a rule like "invoices by company, receipts by year and month". Also new: Custom AI Blocks that put any detail (invoice number, client, total) into a filename, a Movies and TV template for Plex, music grouped by artist and album, sequence numbers, and video names from speech and subtitles. Works on Mac and Windows with cloud AI, your own API key, or local models.

Hey Product Hunt, Kirill here. I make Zush.
In May we launched Zush here as a file renamer: you give it messy files, it reads what's inside and names each one properly. 71 updates later, it also decides where those files go.
The big one is folder sorting. Zush can group files on its own, or you write a rule in plain words, like "invoices by company, receipts by year and month". It builds nested folders and shows you the result before anything moves. Undo puts every file back. If you like your filenames as they are, it can sort without renaming.
Other things that shipped since May:
Custom AI Blocks. Describe a detail once ("invoice number", "client name", "total with currency") and use it as part of the filename.
A Movies & TV template. Files come out like Copper Valley (2011) - S02E03 - Quiet Static.mkv, the naming Plex, Jellyfin, and Infuse expect, and episodes go into show and season folders.
Audio naming from speech, so voice memos get named by what's said in them. Music gets grouped by artist and album.
Video names from speech, embedded subtitles, and metadata, MKV included.
Sequence numbers with your own start and leading zeros. Each folder keeps its own count.
Folder monitoring on external drives that picks up again after you reconnect the drive.
Mac and Windows get the same features. You can use Zush Cloud AI, plug in your own OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or OpenRouter key, or keep everything on your machine with Ollama or LM Studio. The free plan has 50 renames.
Zush has a 5.0 rating on the Microsoft Store. One reviewer, Lennox, had over 127 Reels that needed names and wrote that it "did it flawlessly, so well that I ended up buying the App Permanently".
For Product Hunt: code ZUSH25 takes 25% off the one-time PRO license, so it's $36 instead of $48.
Which folder on your computer is the worst right now? Downloads, Desktop, a "Scans" folder from 2019? Tell me in the comments and I'll suggest a setup for it. Bug reports and "it can't do X" are welcome too.
