Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm Ethan, the maker of RocketScribe.
Why I built it: I was paying for a monthly transcription plan just to get through a few recordings a month. I wanted something free for small jobs, affordable for bigger ones, and upfront about its limits: they're on the pricing page, not buried in a FAQ.
Who it's for: students, researchers, journalists, podcasters, and anyone with interviews, lectures or meetings to turn into text.
What it does:
• Upload audio or video (MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV and 20+ more formats), import from a YouTube or Google Drive link, or record straight from your mic
• Detects 90+ languages automatically, including recordings that mix Chinese and English
• An editor synced to the audio: click any line to hear it, then fix it in place
• Speaker labels on paid plans: rename a speaker once and it updates across the whole transcript
• Optional audio repair for noisy recordings on paid plans
• Export to TXT, DOCX, PDF, CSV, SRT or VTT with no watermarks, or turn the transcript into a ready-made prompt for ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini to summarise
• Folders, bulk export and read-only share links to keep transcripts organised and pass them on
Good to know:
• Large files upload in resumable parts, up to 5 GB on paid plans
• Your files are never used to train AI models, and you can delete them at any time
• You can try it from the homepage without creating an account
I'd love your feedback, especially on what feels slow or confusing in the editor and which features you'd want next. I'll read and reply to every comment.
