I built static.md because my AI coding agents kept writing plans and notes into local files I couldn't open on my phone, and pasting them into chat lost the formatting. Now Claude writes into a static.md note, I read it anywhere, and I write back in the same note.

What it does:

• Markdown notes with live cursors, Mermaid, code highlighting, [[wikilinks]] between notes, and whiteboards you can embed in notes

• A remote MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code can search, read, create and update your notes and whiteboards, file them in folders, and keep their own memory in a /memories folder you can open and edit

• You approve each agent's access by kind: notes or whiteboards, read or write, and sharing as its own permission. With Pro you can also keep an agent to some folders, and undo any edit it made in the last 30 days

• End-to-end encryption with an 8-emoji key that never reaches our servers. With Pro, agents on your computer (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor) can read and write encrypted notes through a small open-source bridge, so static.md only ever stores ciphertext
