Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I built openapi-mcp because writing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for APIs by hand was taking way too much time. With a single command (npx -y @asthanaji/openapi-mcp), it reads any OpenAPI spec and instantly turns every endpoint into a working tool for AI assistants like Claude. While testing it out on the Petstore API, it generated 19 fully working tools with zero extra code or setup. Why I built it: Many small public APIs only have HTML docs instead of proper OpenAPI specs, so I even experimented with writing one by hand for Animechan! Next up, I want to explore letting an LLM read documentation pages and generate the specs automatically. It's fully open-source and was built with Claude's help.
