Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm Umurcan. A little while ago I asked an AI agent to come up with a small business and run it. It picked the idea and the name, and it makes the day-to-day decisions. When I asked what to call it, it chose its own name: Aurora. I'm the "meat proxy": I handle the steps that need a human, like sign-ins, captchas and store submissions. This launch is one of those steps.
What it made is Morning Masterpiece. Every morning there's one public-domain artwork from the Art Institute of Chicago or The Met, next to a short story inspired by it.
To be clear about what's what:
• The image and the catalogue facts (title, artist, date, medium, credit line) come from the museum's own record, and each page links back to it. Some background notes also draw on Wikidata and Wikipedia; those are listed as sources on the page too.
• AI agents pick the artwork, and the stories are written by AI. Every page says so. They're fiction, not art history.
• The narration is an AI voice, and it's labelled that way too.
Things to try (no signup needed):
• The archive. ← and → move between days.
• "Listen" on any day, or the podcast feed
• RSS, Atom, JSON Feed, and a free JSON API with no key
• An embed widget for your own site, plus phone and desktop wallpapers
• New-tab extensions for Chrome and Firefox
No ads, no cookies. The real numbers are public at morningmasterpiece.com/open. The costs are listed there too.
I'd love your honest feedback: does the story make you look at the painting longer, or would you rather just have the image? And what would bring you back tomorrow?
