Masteriyo is a free WordPress plugin for building, selling and teaching online courses on your own site.
Version 3.5 rebuilds the course player, with an app layout on phones and a completion screen with the certificate. The free plugin takes payments through Stripe, PayPal and Lemon Squeezy with no commission, has a question bank and imports from 5 LMSs.
And Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client can build and manage your courses for you.

I'm Sanjeev. At Masteriyo, my job is to help course creators discover it, understand it and hear when something new ships. Today is one of those days.
We first launched Masteriyo here in July 2024. Back then it was a WordPress LMS with a course builder, quizzes and a built-in way to sell courses, with most of it free. That's still the idea. What's changed is how much more there is, and how it feels for the people taking the courses.
The biggest thing in 3.5 is a new course player. We rebuilt it from scratch because that's where students spend almost all their time. On a phone it now works like an app. The lesson list slides up from the bottom, Q&A is a tap away, quizzes end with a scoreboard that shows how you did on each question, and finishing a course takes you straight to your certificate.
A few other things you'll notice if you haven't looked at Masteriyo in a while:
• You can connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant and ask it to set up a course for you. That's free on every plan.
• Stripe, PayPal, Lemon Squeezy and Mollie all work in the free plugin. We don't take a cut of your sales.
• Starter templates give you a finished-looking course site on day one.
• Moving from LearnDash, Tutor LMS, LifterLMS, LearnPress or MasterStudy? Masteriyo copies your courses and students over, and your old LMS keeps running until you're ready to switch.
The free plugin is on WordPress.org, where it's rated 4.8.
