Brightspace D2L MCP Server: Your AI finally knows what homework you already handed in

I'm a student and my school runs on D2L Brightspace. I wanted to ask my AI one thing, "what should I work on right now", but every tool I tried only read due dates, so it kept telling me to do work I'd already submitted. This checks the real submission for every assignment and only shows what's left. It also does grades, what you need on the final, exam dates, course files and a calendar export. Setup is one command, npx brightspace-d2l-mcp setup. A normal browser window opens for sign in, so Duo, Microsoft, Okta and Shibboleth all work, and your password is never stored. It's read-only and runs on your own computer. It's been tested at one college so far. I'd love to hear if it works at yours.

It's live and free. Does it work at your school?

Hey, Brightspace D2L MCP Server is already out and free on npm, and tomorrow it launches here on Product Hunt. It lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor read your Brightspace and only shows the work you haven't handed in yet.
