A Rust work assistant for coding, research and documents, with a terminal and local browser UI. Choose your provider:model route, save briefs with acceptance checks, and resume sessions with tool results intact. Try v1.4.0-beta.2 native CLI downloads or build pinned source. Free MIT code; bring a local backend or your own provider account.

Hi, I'm Sean, the builder behind NextEleven.
Harness is the personal work assistant I've been building around my own projects. It reads and edits repositories, runs tools and keeps resumable sessions, with a terminal interface and a local web UI.
You choose the exact provider:model route. Optional fallbacks follow the order you selected. Work briefs keep an outcome, acceptance criteria and verification commands beside the project. Preparation can save that brief without calling a model; actual implementation and verification happen in the agent run.
The source is public under MIT. The current developer prerelease is v1.4.0-beta.2, with native CLI downloads for macOS Apple Silicon/Intel, Linux ARM64/x86-64 and Windows x86-64. Download the matching binary and verify its checksum before running it:
https://github.com/seanebones-lang/harness/releases/tag/v1.4.0-beta.2
The Linux downloads require glibc 2.39 or later. The Windows download needs the Microsoft Visual C++ v14 x64 runtime; the release page links to Microsoft's official download.
The pinned quickstart starts with a brief you can prepare without a model account, then walks through setup, route show and doctor:

A local backend or your own provider account is needed for model work, and that provider may charge for usage. This is a developer evaluation release; native automated checks do not establish fresh-machine interactive acceptance on every OS. Optional desktop/editor sources are separate from these CLI downloads.
The short silent overview includes actual CLI preparation and a recorded local UI example with a synthetic demo provider. It does not claim a model built the example API or that every optional integration has been validated.
Tools act with your account's authority. DeadBolt checks admission after review and before registered tool effects; it is not arbitrary-code isolation. Review proposed changes and check actual results. A completed turn is not proof that your acceptance criteria passed.
I'd value concrete feedback on setup, recovery and the short path from an ambiguous task to a working, verified result.
