We built DotStart around a problem we kept seeing in early-stage investing: once the number of startup applications grows, the first screening process quickly turns into spreadsheets, inboxes, inconsistent notes, and a lot of repetitive work. Good startups can get overlooked simply because reviewing everything properly takes too much time. With DotStart, an investor can define what they actually care about, then have every startup evaluated against the same criteria. Instead of just giving you an AI score, we wanted the system to show why a company looks promising, where the risks are, and what information is still missing. The goal isn't to let AI make investment decisions. It's to make the first pass faster, more consistent, and easier to defend. This is still the beginning for DotStart, so I'd especially love feedback from investors, accelerators, scouts, and founders who have dealt with this process themselves.
