PencilHB: AI-assisted structural steel takeoff from drawings

I started building PencilHB because structural steel takeoff still involves a lot of repetitive manual drawing review. With SteelBox, we’re trying to use AI to help estimators, fabricators, contractors, and engineers identify and organize structural steel members directly from engineering drawings. The goal is not to completely remove the estimator from the process. We want AI to handle the repetitive work while keeping the engineer or estimator in control of review and corrections. SteelBox is our first vertical. The broader vision for PencilHB is engineering drawing intelligence across structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, piping, HVAC, and other workflows. I’d really appreciate feedback from the Product Hunt community, especially anyone working in construction, estimating, fabrication, or engineering.
