Hi Product Hunt 👋 Over the last few months my Mac started spiking in ways I couldn't explain. The answer was my AI agents. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and friends now start dev servers, spin up a git worktree for every task, load local models and install MCP servers and skills on your machine, and almost none of it gets cleaned up. When I finally went looking, I found 73 forgotten worktrees holding 88.8 GB, dev servers still running on ports from sessions that had ended days earlier, and a local model sitting on gigabytes of memory doing nothing. Activity Monitor just said "node". I'm clearly not alone. Developers are filing bugs about agents leaving thousands of zombie processes behind and worktrees quietly eating 140 GB in a week. People are buying Mac minis to run agents around the clock. And the tooling around agents has become a target: malicious MCP servers, skills that drop macOS stealers, and tens of thousands of API keys sitting in plain-text agent configs. Pollymetric is the menu bar app I wanted: • Local Servers: everything listening, who started it, and the ones still running after their agent quit • Worktrees: every copy an agent made, how much space it holds, and safe removal • Plugins & Skills: what each agent has been given, flagging unpinned packages and keys in plain text • Local models named by the model they've loaded, and every process named by what it is and who started it • Explain / Find a Fix: hand a problem to your own agent. It's read-only until you approve each step It uses under 1% CPU at idle, keeps its history on your Mac, needs no account, and it's free and MIT licensed.
