Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm the maker of Paluku. Why I built it: what I dictate is often the most private text I write (messages, notes, half-formed ideas), and I didn't want any of it leaving my laptop. Most voice tools send your audio to the cloud and charge a subscription. Paluku runs entirely on your Mac. How it works: 🗣️ Hold fn to dictate into any app. Filler words and false starts are cleaned up automatically. ✍️ Select text, hold fn and say "make this shorter" to rewrite it in place. 🤖 Hold Right ⌥ to ask the agent. It checks your calendar, creates reminders, finds files, drafts replies and connects to Gmail, Drive or Notion through MCP. Anything that sends, creates or deletes asks you first. Under the hood: WhisperKit on the Neural Engine for speech, and any open model through Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp or MLX. Text lands about a second after you let go of the key. Security was a big focus: an agent that reads emails and web pages is a prompt-injection target, so Paluku tracks outside content and requires approval before sending anything out.
