Hi everyone, I started Big Weather while living in California, and as European desperately trying to wrap my head around Fahrenheit, what is hot and cold. Not that it really would have got cold in southern California. Anyways, I couldn't find a menu bar app that showed Fahrenheit and Celsius side by side, so I made one. Since that starting point it's got a lot of updates over the years. Version 5 starts a change of direction with a new vision for the app: it'll be less of weather data dump and rather trying to give you clear tangible idea of what that weather means for you in practice. What's new: • AI insights. A few words about today in the menu bar ("Heavy rain from 4PM") and a short rundown of the week in the panel. Apple Intelligence writes them on your Mac, so your location never goes to an AI service. (Premium, macOS 27) • Official weather warnings, word for word, from the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe, with a marker on each day they cover. (Premium) • Lots of delightful little user interface improvements like a hoverable UV index for the next 24. The free version is an actual real app, not just a trial that will stop working. You do get a bit less visibility with and the fancy new stuff is missing. Sorry, trying to make a living here as well. Premium is $1.99 a month or $9.99 a year with the first month free, or $29.99 once if you'd rather avoid subs. If you want to give it a kick before committing just get one of the subs for a month and be sure to unsubscribe before the renewal date. It's done via Mac App Store so it's safe and what you're probably used to with other apps.
