Rhubarb turns connected data into custom interactive visualizations with an AI assistant that writes the SQL and JavaScript while keeping the code visible and editable. Unlike chart generators or fixed dashboard tools, Rhubarb produces functioning, publishable visualizations that stay connected to their data, with hosting, sharing, access controls, and continued AI-assisted editing built into the same workflow. Skip the point-and-click interface—just ask for what you want to see.
Hi Product Hunt, I’m Adam, the founder of Rhubarb.
I started building Rhubarb after realizing that AI had become remarkably good at creating custom data visualizations, but generating the code was only one piece of actually delivering a working one.
The data still has to live somewhere and stay current. The visualization needs hosting, sharing and access controls. And, especially when AI is writing the code, I wanted the underlying SQL and JavaScript to remain visible, reviewable, and editable rather than disappearing into a black box.
So I built Rhubarb around the whole workflow.
Connect or upload your data, describe what you want to see, and the Rhubarb Assistant writes the SQL and JavaScript to build the visualization. You can inspect or edit that code yourself, keep working with the assistant, and publish the finished interactive visualization from the same workspace.
The launch video shows Rhubarb generating a working multi-view world trade visualization from a single prompt.
There’s also a live demo you can try without creating an account or entering a credit card. It’s meant to let you actually build and modify visualizations rather than just watch a canned example. You can try the live demo here, no account or credit card required: https://rhubarbviz.com/try?launch=1
Play with the visualization from the video here: https://rhubarbviz.com/viz/01M2E...
I’d particularly love feedback on whether the workflow makes sense immediately and what you’d try to build with it.
Thanks for checking it out.
