Hi Product Hunt, I'm Patrick. Every family has the box of old prints: grandparents at a wedding, a great-aunt on a bicycle, all grey, creased, sometimes torn right through a face. I built Nano Revive Pix so anyone can put the color back using the phone in their pocket. A few things that turned out to matter: - The hard part is the photo of the photo. Almost nobody scans anymore, so what arrives is a print shot at an angle, with a white border and a lamp reflection. Before you spend a credit, a second model looks at your upload and gives you 2-3 plain tips: straighten it, get a bit closer, your lens looks smudged. - It straightens, de-skews and crops before it restores, and it is told to keep the exact likeness of every person. You get your family back, not a stranger. - One line has been in the prompt since day one: "rather add a tad too much color than too little." Muted restorations look fake; slightly generous ones look like a memory. - It works in 10 languages, because the people with the shoeboxes often don't want an English-only site.
