Hi Product Hunt, I built this because my Downloads folder is 76 files and 10 GB, my Desktop is 19 GB across 18 items I could not name, and I was never going to fix that by hand. Declutter is a set of skills you install into whatever AI coding agent you already use. You say "my downloads folder is out of control" and it goes and does it. Four skills today: • Bookmarks, across eleven browsers • Any folder, including Dropbox and iCloud, where it clears out the duplicate copies your devices left behind when they disagreed • Photos, sorted by when they were actually taken rather than when the file got copied, with screenshots separated out • Notes, in Obsidian or any folder of markdown The thing I care most about is that it is boring and safe. It backs up before it touches anything, shows you counts rather than adjectives, waits for you to say go, and gives you the exact command to undo it. Nothing is deleted, ever: files go to your trash and notes get archived. Asking it a question is never permission to change something. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Windsurf: npx skills add vamgan/declutter It is open source and MIT. Adding support for an app you care about is one markdown file, and adding a browser is three lines, so if the app you want is missing please open an issue or a PR. Fair warning while it is early: I have used it on macOS. Linux and Windows run in CI on every commit but nobody has done a full cleanup on them yet, so if you try it there I would genuinely like to hear how it went.
