Hi Product Hunt! I’m Nelson, the maker of DealCheck Defender—the independent second opinion in your pocket before you sign.
I’m building it because the most confusing part of buying a car often happens at the dealership, when the advertised price becomes a buyer’s order, loan, fees, and add-ons.
The current public beta focuses on that moment:
• Rebuild the out-the-door total
• Check sample APR, loan term, payment, fees, and add-ons
• Get a clear Deal Verdict
• See what to challenge and the evidence behind it
• Edit and copy suggested wording yourself
• Use EV Mode for battery warranty and health, real-world range, fast charging, recalls/software, replacement risk, FSD ownership, and depreciation context
DealCheck never calls, texts, emails, or negotiates with the dealer. The buyer stays in control.
Everything in this early beta is clearly labeled fictional sample data. There is no account, paid automotive API, or real document processing yet. I added a short anonymous feedback form because I want to learn what earns trust before connecting real data.
I’d especially value feedback on three questions:
1. Did the verdict feel clear and credible?
2. Which evidence would matter most at the dealership?
3. What would stop you from paying for a real report?
