PromptNote started with a very simple frustration of my own. I use LLMs and generative tools a lot, and over time I built up prompt structures that I kept returning to. The problem was finding them again. Some were buried in old conversations, some were scattered across different note-taking apps, and some had simply disappeared somewhere in my history. I didn’t want another general-purpose notes app. I wanted a small, clean library made specifically for prompts — somewhere I could save the ones that worked, organize them properly, and find them again in seconds. That became PromptNote. The core prompt library is free and unlimited. You can organize prompts with categories and tags, mark important ones as favorites, search through your collection, and keep everything synced through iCloud. PromptNote is available on iPhone and iPad, and I also built a separate native macOS version rather than relying on an iPad app running on the Mac. Later, I added PromptLab as an optional extra. It guides you through a few simple questions about what you want to create and turns your choices into a more detailed, structured prompt. It supports different workflows for image, video, text, audio and agent-style prompts. I didn’t want PromptNote’s basic usefulness locked behind a subscription, so the organizer remains free. PromptLab is simply a permanent, one-time unlock for people who want the additional prompt-building tool. Mostly, I built the app I wished I already had every time I found myself thinking: “I know I wrote a really good prompt for this somewhere…”
