Fond & Fold started with a gap I found interesting.

Traditional commissions can create something truly personal, but they often come with briefs, back-and-forth, waiting, and revisions. Open-ended AI tools make creation dramatically faster, but they often hand the creative work back to you — start with a blank prompt, decide what you want, generate, tweak, edit, and judge the results yourself.

I wanted to explore the space in between: keep the personal feel of something made for one particular person, while removing as much of the creative friction as possible.

Fond & Fold starts with a small collection of finished illustrated card designs. You pick one you already like, upload a photo, choose a few words, and get a personalized version in minutes. No prompting, no blank canvas, no editor. You see the exact finished card before paying.

The product philosophy is basically less is more: fewer decisions for the user, more judgment built into the finished result. When generation is abundant, maybe the useful part isn’t giving people even more possibilities — it’s helping them get to something personal, beautiful, and reliable with less work along the way.
