Most language apps have you tapping answers. AvalaVoice has you talking - a live AI tutor that listens, corrects your pronunciation word by word, and keeps the conversation going when you stumble. Initially 14 languages, including Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Ukrainian, which most apps skip entirely. You can try it without making an account: avalavoice.com/try - pick a language, say the phrase out loud, get a score back.

Hi Product Hunt š
I'm Vlad, the founder.
I built it because I'd been that person with the long streak who still couldn't hold a conversation. I could recognise the words instantly on a screen and still go blank when someone actually spoke to me. Recognising a language and speaking it turn out to be two different skills, and I'd only ever practised one of them.
So AvalaVoice is speaking-first. You talk, an AI tutor listens and talks back, and it corrects your pronunciation while you're speaking. Not a score at the end of a lesson, but a correction in the moment, the way a tutor would.
Three things I think make it worth a look:
⢠14 languages, including Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Ukrainian. Very few apps cover these with actual speaking practice.
⢠Pronunciation is scored per word and per sound, so you learn that it's your "r" that's the problem, not just that you "sounded off".
⢠You can try it with no account at all: avalavoice.com/try. Pick a language, say the phrase out loud, get a score back. Takes about 30 seconds.
Free tier is 5 minutes a day. Paid plans start at $9.99/month.
What I'd most like feedback on: the first two minutes. Is it obvious what to do? Does the pronunciation feedback feel fair or harsh? And if you're a native speaker of any of the 14, I really want to know whether the corrections are actually correct. That's the part I can't fully test alone.
I'll be here in the comments all day.
