ClicData MCP Server: bring your BI data into any AI chat. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and other MCP-compatible clients directly to ClicData. Ask any questions on live data, and pull dashboards without leaving the conversation. Phase one covers data & dashboard retrieval; next up: letting your AI client build dashboards and Data Flows on its own. No exports, no new pipelines, just your data, where you're already working!
We've had some questions on the security aspect of this new capability, so here's a quick recap. I'm happy to expand more if need be.
The authentication is handled via an application created in the account settings by any Account admin. It is supporting OAuth2 or API Key credentials, so teams can choose the method that fits their preferred security level best.
This means all requests inherit the calling user's existing roles and permissions in ClicData, meaning an AI client can only see and query data or objects that the user is already authorized to access — there's no elevated or bypass access path. Credentials can be revoked at any time from the app's settings.
