Launching today
Look up any word on your screen without leaving the page
You hit a word you don't know. Three tabs later, the paragraph is gone. Hold ⌥A, box the word, and Leafy answers for that sentence instead of the dictionary's first guess, over PDFs, ebooks, images, anything on screen. Every word saves itself, then comes back blanked out in the sentence you met it in. 10 languages.

Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Jtobin, I built Leafy.
**Leafy looks up any word on your screen without pulling you out of what you're reading.**
For anyone who reads in a language they're still learning: papers, ebooks, subtitles, scanned pages, a screenshot someone sent you.
**Here's how it works:**
1. Hold ⌥A and box a word. Anything on screen, images and PDFs included.
2. Leafy reads the sentence around it first. "Charge" in a legal PDF and "charge" in a physics paper get different answers.
3. It saves itself. No "add to deck" step.
4. Later that word comes back blanked out in the sentence you first met it in, and you fill in the gap.
**Why I built it:**
The unknown word was never the problem. The four seconds after were: switch to the browser, paste, scroll past the wrong meaning, come back, lose the paragraph. Ten of those and I've stopped reading.
**New since the last launch:**
- Review, built on your own sentences instead of someone else's wordlist
- Greek, Thai and Arabic
- A pile of small fixes from people who emailed me about them
10 languages. Your library exports to Anki, CSV, Excel, JSON and PDF whenever you want it somewhere else.
I'm around all day. Tell me what's broken.
