The Room began with a workflow I was already using myself.

When a question mattered, I rarely wanted one polished AI answer. I would take an idea between different AI conversations, ask one model to challenge another, carry useful context across, and keep developing the thread until something genuinely new emerged.

It worked, but I was doing the orchestration by hand: copying and pasting, switching tabs, deciding what context to carry over, and trying to preserve the continuity of the discussion.

So I started building a single place where multiple AI perspectives could respond not only to me, but also to what the others had already said.

The first version used six distinct voices in one shared thread. As I tested it, I realized that “thinking with multiple minds” is not one workflow. Sometimes you want several perspectives to examine or resolve a question. Sometimes you want two models to challenge each other or build an idea together. Sometimes you want separate conversations and complete control over what crosses between them.

Those different needs became The Room’s six modes.

I built it solo, without funding or a team, as a tool I wanted for my own decisions and difficult questions. The goal is not to produce more answers. It is to create the kind of interaction through which better thinking can emerge.

I kept the interface intentionally quiet and minimal so the attention stays on the conversation, not the software around it.
