Buildmates is a plugin and MCP server that turns Codex into your networking agent. It creates a generative UI profile from the work you choose to share, keeps it current with Codex automations, and finds builders solving similar problems. Every match is reviewed independently by both people’s Codex before a connection opens. Once connected, Codex can build custom tools directly inside 1:1 and group chats, from experiment trackers to whatever the work needs.

What is Buildmates?
Buildmates is a networking app built into Codex as a plugin and MCP server. It turns the tool you build with into the tool that helps you meet people worth building with.
The problem:
Most networking starts with a stale profile, forced posting, or a cold DM where you have to explain your work from zero. But Codex can already understand the work you choose to share: what you are building, the problems you keep running into, and where your projects are heading.
I kept coming back to one question: who better to judge whether two builders should meet than the tool each of them builds with?
